Description

This study used backwards-design principles and authentic assessment to ask the question: what do we want our community of practice members to be able to do better after this training intervention? Authentic Assessment is defined as measuring accomplishments that are worthwhile, significant and meaningful. It is an example of direct as opposed to indirect assessment, and as such is also sometimes defined as more inclusive than standardized tests or surveys, because it can take personality and context into account. It is particularly suited to non-formal educational contexts such as a professional development workshop.
