This exercise is likely to be more effective when led in person rather than via a recording. The tone of voice and modeling of the facilitator may significantly affect participant engagement. It may also be most usefully framed as a mindfulness activity (rather than meditation). Mick Vande Berg recommends this activity for teaching Competency 3 (Emotional Resilience). It may also teach self awareness, although not cultural self awareness.
