In those endless Zoom calls in 2020-2021, you may have been engaging in emotion labor (EL) which has left you feeling unusually worn out. In this session, learn what EL is, how to recognize when you are engaged in it, how you can recover from it, and how you can prepare others to face it. You may be feeling stressed out just from reading this description. Rest assured, this may be the funnest workshop about EL you ever attend (especially since it may be the ONLY one you ever attend on EL), as participants engage in four experiential activities for diagnosing and overcoming EL symptoms. This is a conversation that you'll want to take back to your own workplace and also that you'll want to have with students who may be choosing a career.
