Biography
I am on the faculty of the University of Strathclyde Institute of Education (Glasgow, UK). Currently, my research focuses on integrating writing instruction into teacher education programmes. I also serve as a chaplain with the University chaplaincy and work with Glasgow-area secondary schools to develop practitioner enquiry and students-as-researchers projects.
In addition to research on higher education pedagogy, I'm interested in strengthening reflective practice among teachers and teacher candidates as a part of developing pedagogies that sustain the cultural identities and languages of all students.
I collaborate with an international group of scholars to develop and assess pedagogies that integrate intercultural competence into writing courses. More about this work can be found at http://writeic.org, or here on the HubICL: https://hubicl.org/projects/transculturation.
