Using metaphorical communication is not easy for every learner, particularly in a culture that tends to preference direct communication (think majority populations of the USA &/or professionals in the hard sciences).  But most everyone seems to respond well to choosing one of these small, tangible metal objects.  They are also an excellent way for an instructor or trainer to honor the learning style preferences of the tactile or kinesthetic learners in the group (such as student-athletes)!  heart
