As part of the HubICL collection of 2018 CILMAR Mini-grant Awardee presentations, Purdue University’s Center for Learning, Mentorship, Assessment and Research is proud to present this video on Purdue PhD student Louis Hickman’s CILMAR-funded project, Development of a Cultural Controllability Scale. In his video, Louis describes how he led an interdisciplinary team to create and validate a new assessment instrument. He discusses the theoretical frameworks of implicit theories of culture and attribution theory, tells the story of the item construction, and explains the statistical processes he used to validate the Cultural Controllability Scale.
