ICIS addresses the ever-growing needs of language teachers and teacher educators who must engage in intercultural communication and culture learning and teaching in diverse contexts locally and globally.

Our goals as a Community of Practice are:

• Building a professional community to enhance expertise in intercultural learning and intercultural communication and intercultural competence development in language programs, teacher education programs and professional development programs.
• Sharing theory, research findings, and best practices that are relevant to ICIS purpose.
• Providing assistance to those who wish to advocate for intercultural learning and intercultural communication competence development.
