This research study explores the career networks of international students, using social network analysis and thematic analysis in the form of interviews and surveys. A mixed methods approached allowed us to describe key individuals and organizations in participants’ career networks, including their roles, locations, nationalities, how helpful their instrumental and emotional career-related support is perceived to be, and how participants were referred to them. The research questions were: (1) Which individuals and organizations and their respective support efforts comprise the instrumental and emotional career support networks of international students? (2) How do international students describe challenges and barriers within the job search? (3) How do international students describe any support missing from their career networks? (4) How could the network structure inform information session topic choices, outreach, and communication dissemination efforts to better serve students? (Lee et al., 2023).
