Highlight from the HubICL Collections

CILMAR’s Publications page was recently reorganized to make it easier for researchers to see the contents of the page. Users are now guided from the CILMAR page to Collections of publications by Purdue researchers. The CILMAR page is organized by headings related to the college, center, or program from which the research originated and/or by the topic being considered. Topics range from assessment to world languages and linguistics.

There are several ways you can help with this ongoing project:

1. This is very much a work-in-progress, so, if you see links that are misdirecting users, copy-and-paste errors, etc., it would be great if you would let us know by submitting a ticket. This can be accomplished by clicking HELP on any page of the HubICL. Feel free to start the message with “Dear Annette.”
2. We would love to receive similar Collections of research pertaining to intercultural learning, global learning, or diversity-equity-inclusion from you. To get started, please login and then go to hubicl.org/collections. Click +New collection and follow the prompts. Again, use the HELP feature if you run into any trouble.
3. Logged in users have quite a few ways to respond to posted research. Just hover along the bottom of any post within a Collection, and you’ll see like, comment, and collect buttons. We’d love to hear from you!

Highlight from the HubICL Courses

Most popular among the HubICL’s self-learning modules this month was “Curriculum mapping: A tool for embedding learning outcomes across a degree program, with users from East Carolina University and Purdue University completing the short course. In this self-paced module, learners review or become familiar with the basic concepts of curriculum mapping at the institutional level and increase their understanding through a short lecture featuring a variety of curriculum maps and suggested actions based on what the maps communicate. Action items include scrutinizing checklists for identifying a high quality curriculum map and writing student outcomes well, along with reviewing curriculum mapping resources.
