I was listening today to the September 18, 2019, episode of the SuperSoul podcast on which Oprah Winfrey interviewed Malcolm Gladwell. He was on a book tour for his new book Talking to Strangers. Toward the end of the interview, Oprah moved from talking about the book to asking Malcolm more personal, introspective questions. One of the questions was, "What is one question you would like to have answered?" He responded that he would like to know how to change someone's mind. They went on to discuss the Catholic Church's attitude toward LGBTQ Catholics. Oprah's response offers an example of how to move people from polarization to minimization on this issue. You can hear the bit of the conversation that I am referencing at 32:30-36:00. It might make for an interesting supplement to this activity.
