Clearly, this is an activity which, at least as it is currently written, translates poorly to online education or pandemic pedagogy modes. I agree with the authors that internet searches for info should still be banned. But I disagree with the notion that virtual partnering across cultures is inherently less desirable or less impactful than in-person experiential learning, if thoughtfully designed. This activity might be done via virtual partnering and the use of a phone or e-conferencing too. Perhaps something like What's App or Google Hangouts? In that case, one would presumably need to have assigned virtual teams for the project.
