It is important that the facilitator work with the idea of how bruising happens and how that feels and to ensure that participants do not leave with the idea that bruising creates inferiority.

It is important to set up and debrief the activity with a focus on verbal and nonverbal communication. For example, a facilitator might ask the participants to pay attention to how they and others are behaving, their body language, or inflecting or how they say "mean" and "nice" things, and conversely, how they might avoid these for empathetic communication.
