An adapted version for virtual environments was created by Dr. Andy Buchanan, Purdue University Polytechnic Institute. See Downloads for instructions.

Instructions and guidance for this activity are explained in Theatre of the Oppressed: A Manual for Educators (pp. 35-38), located in Links. It can be used in conjunction with Complete the Picture.

The facilitator may want to use a Thiagi debrief, or create their own debriefing questions that address the cultural aspects of nonverbal communication and interpretation.

A virtual adaptation of this activity is available in Downloads. It is titled Body Language Sculpting in Virtual Environments.  The virtual version of this activity was submitted by Dr. Andy Buchanan in fulfillment of the requirements of the Intercultural Pedagogy Grant program.
