The Four Levels of Cultural Awareness are based on the Four Stages of Competence attributed to Martin M. Broadwell’s “Four Levels of Teaching.”

As a result of this activity, participants will be able to: 1. Recognize the four levels of cultural awareness: unconscious incompetence, conscious incompetence, conscious competence, unconscious competence. 2. Articulate common myths and evidence-based tenets about skill development and learning as related to the four levels of awareness. 3. Apply the four levels to a cultural situation.
