This seven question survey is intended to measure the degree to which a college student is comfortable with being challenged by difference.  This definition of openness is very different in attitude and behavioral outcomes from "openness to experience" -- which appears to be how many young non-scholars prefer to operationalize the phrase "being open to difference."
