Note: This activity asks participants to use Panoramio, a former geotagging photo sharing site that was connected to Google Maps and Google Earth. Unfortunately, Google discontinued this site in 2016, so it is no longer available. As an alternative, we recommend Mapillary. Mapillary works similarly to Panoramio and Google Maps/Google Earth in that it allows individuals to upload geotagged photos that can then be accessed through a map interface: https://www.mapillary.com/

As a result of this activity, participants will be able to: 1. "Move beyond consuming touristic culture to learning about the host culture through its heritage (built, natural and intangible)." 2. "Engage in an open and shared process of cultural learning through photography and web-based file sharing." 3. "Become a more careful and astute observer and engage in conscientious reflection of the meanings of cultural heritage" (Morais & Ogden, 2009).
