This activity is especially interesting for liberal arts students, such as those studying language, communication, history, etc. However, I have done something similar with mixed groups of students from a variety of disciplines, including STEM, with success. It fits well with a curriculum meant to increase diversity awareness and mindfulness of how we interact across difference. Definitely, facilitators should be aware (and potentially give learners a trigger warning) of the potential emotional reaction of some people to the offensive language (ethnic slurs) under analysis in this activity.
