In my work of teaching professors to teach students to work effectively across difference, it can sometimes be difficult for STEM professors to see how "openness" is important to the day-to-day work of the hard or applied sciences --even when they personally support soft-skill acquisition as necessary to better social lives or to better team spirit in their labs. The bias quiz exercise has helped me enormously in making the idea of anti-bias as good science "snap into focus" for these professors. And, it has helped motivate several of them incorporate the quiz & its related short activities on avoiding bias into courses on things like machine-learning and bio-medical engineering!
