This is one of a number of exercises which can be used to help students learn to gather data and suspend judgement, or  risk falling into (a) confirmation bias, (b) bandwagon effect &/or (c) harmful stereotyping. It has been singled out by some of CILMAR's faculty friends as more immediately meaningful to STEM students than (for example) the old standard of Describe, Interpret, Evaluation; because the scientific method is all about observations and finding patterns in observed data.  As such, it would pair well with the "Match the Bias Quiz" (HubICL tool #371).
